Basement friends, hello!

How is everyone? For those of you who were at the Brussels gig, have you gotten over it yet? For those of you who are yet to see Two Door this year…I get you! Let us know what gigs you’re going to on twitter!

Now, for those of you who follow us on social media, you’ll know we’re slightly reorganising our communications strategy to make sure we offer you the best content!

Basementpeople.com is currently the wonderful Maybrit, who amongst other things redesigned the site when Gameshow came out, and myself. What a dream team! Amongst the two of us we are running the site, our social media accounts and keeping our eyes and ears peeled for Two Door updates! We are hoping to work alongside management this year to provide you with the best content and make this website the wonderful place it once was! With a new year ahead of us and album four only around the corner, we believe now is the perfect time to up our game and get this baby rolling once more! We will therefore be updating our website and social media more often, will be interacting with your more via twitter and instagram stories and will of course be redesigning the site to match the new albums aesthetic!

To make our website a fun, dynamic and relevant place to hang out however, we need you! We’re always open to sharing your content (stories, photos, covers, artwork, tattoos) as we believe that’s what really makes this website live! Have you seen our Made in the Basement section? We haven’t updated in a while and yet we know there’s so much quality content out there, so do get in touch if you’d like to be featured on the site! We would also love to know what you expect from us as a fan site – more band news (when available of course), more visual content, more fan content, more throwbacks, more interactive content (polls, games, competitions), more of our own personnal stories and Two Door experiences? Let us know!

We would also like to know what the best way to get to you is. We have posted about this on our instagram story, our twitter and in Two Door’s facebook group, but in case you missed it, here’s our message:

What we mean by this is that we want to know exaclty what to post where. We will continue to be present on all platforms, however you may prefer twitter for news, instagram for visual content, facebook for events… Then again you might prefer twitter for its interactive side, instagram for news and facebook for sharing! Either way, we want to know!

Maybrit and I are very passionate about the band our site and therefore completely open to taking on board any requests and suggestions you may have, indeed we may run the website, but it’s all of us as a community that makes the basement people the best fan base ever, am I right?!

Please do get in touch and let us know how you see basementpeople.com in 2019!

We can’t wait to hear from you, until then I’m going to go back to calmly waiting for album number four…

Talk soon basement peeps!

Saoirse.

Fête du bruit for Beacon’s six year anniversary!
Fête du bruit for Beacon’s six year anniversary! avatar

Sup basement amigos and amigas?

As you know, I saw Two Door just over two weeks ago at the Fête du Bruit festival in Brittany. Needless to say it was quite the night and so nice to see them again!
The band didn’t have their new light show with them, and though at first I was dissapointed it turned out to be quite nice as there was something quite cosy and humble about the whole thing, it reminded me of their early shows. I am however quite confused as to why they’re not playing more of Gameshow – any ideas?

Anyway, here’s a photo I took during Sun (I think), their closing song, and a photo of myself (middle) along with my fellow basement friends, at the front row (obvs).

In other news…Beacon was six years old yesterday? Whaaat?
What are your memories of it’s release? I remember it being leaked, Alex’s beautiful post on tumblr, not listening to it yet knowing so many people had heard it, and listening to it on their website around a week before it came out. What’s your favourite song(s) off Beacon? Mine are Handshake and Sleep Alone!

On Beacon’s 6 year anniversary, let’s take a look back at some of the groundbreaking sonic moments

Finally, as I pointed out in my previous post, the band have some new sweet merch!

You can now get your hands on these bad boys from our collab with @babakganjei 👉 link in bio

Have you bought anything new from their site recently? I was thinking of getting a t-shirt at the festival two weeks ago but didn’t actually see any at the merch tent! Oh well…next time!

I hope you’re all well, for those going back to school this month I hope it goes well, you’ll do fab I just know it. Keep in touch with us on twitter! Until next time.

Much love,
Saoirse

Hey guys!

You’ve heard from Maybrit over the past few days, and will be hearing from Olivia and Ellie preeetty soon so be ready! It’s great to have some new people working with us, I’m delighted with our new team!

Now, just a quick post to let you guys know our discography and bio pages are pretty much up to date! Our discography is complete, from Life Without Rory’s You Missed The Point to their recent cover of Sia’s The Greatest, and it’s very tidy so it makes it super easy to get around, check it out here! I’m delighted with the way it looks, we hope you’ll enjoy it too!
As for our bio pages, they’re almost done! The pictures have been updated, and we’ve added a page for new live member Jacob, so the whole thing looks pretty amazing if I may say so myself:

Their social media links have also been added to their pages to make it super easy to keep up with the band’s adventures! You can check it all out here. All that needs to be done so is a little update on the bios themselves, I’m working on it at the moment but if you guys have any ideas as to what info you’d like to see on these pages do let me know! A huge thank you to our new team member Maybrit for looking after the discography and bio pages, from creating the art work to putting all the links together. It all looks amazing and makes me so much more proud of our site! Let us know what you guys think about the site’s new look on twitter!

Don’t forget about the band’s live stream later on today, more info here.

Talk soon amigos and amigas, until then I’m leaving you in good hands, don’t you worry.

The new basement people team!

Hey basement people!

I’ve got some pretty exciting news for you guys today. As you know, a while back I asked you guys if any of you would like to become a part of the basementpeople.com team as regular contributors. Well, it is with great pleasure that I can say we have three new members on board!
Introducing Maybrit Bulla, 19, from Spain, who will helping me redesign parts of the site (those bio pages, huh?), Ellie Brown, 15, from the UK who will be posting on the site alongside myself, and Olivia Lopez, 15 and also from the UK who will be helping out with the instagram account!
This is what we’ve decided for now, but things may change depending on how it all goes, so I suggest you remember these girls, because you’re going to be hearing a lot from them!
We’ve already had a few contributions from Maybrit before and she won two of our competitions, and you know Olivia of course, she helped us all wait for Gameshow with her fantastic challenge! You may not know Ellie just yet, but when you will you’ll love her!

We’re obviously very excited to be working alongside some new and fun people, because as you know it’s very much needed at the moment but also because we get to add some fabulous new members to the team! Here’s what Olivia and Maybrit have to say about it:

14813484_10210918042970800_978049383_n.jpgHello fellow Basement People! I’m Olivia (but you may know me as ‘Oliviay’ on Instagram as @hella_halliday), I’m from the UK and I’m happy to say that I am a new member of the Basement People Team. It’s such a privilege to be working with this fantastic team and special thanks to Saoirse for recruiting me and updating the site! It’s nice to meet you all and I’m looking forward to contributing on the site ❤.

In other news, just a quick congratulations to our very own Kevin Baird! As you know we very rarely post any personal news on the site, but Kevin did share this fantastic news on his public instagram, and I know you guys are so happy for him, so here’s to a long and happy life Kev and your beautiful wife!

Sorry ladies, this ship has sailed.
