Two things today fellow basement people.
First up – how about a listening party? One of our fellow basement people, Ciaran (members of the basement people official facebook group will know him from his absolutely fantastic “best Two Door song” polls!) has had yet another great idea!
Hey Basement People, hope you’re all keeping well amidst the craziness of the world these days! As Ireland (where I’m from) descends into a lockdown situation for the second time this year, I’ve been immersing myself in music once again as a way of escaping the terrible reality which we are all living through. The way I see it, in a year where there has not been much to shout about, it’s up to each of us to try and create the good vibes to get us through everything! With that being said, I have an idea… I don’t know how it took me so long, but earlier on this year I finally discovered Tim’s Twitter Listening Parties. Organised by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, the idea is to get an artist/band and their fans to listen to a given album simultaneously at a pre-arranged time while interacting on Twitter. I’ll link the website below so you can see for yourself. I’ve really enjoyed going through past listening parties this year involving some of my favourite artists, but as far as I can see, Two Door Cinema Club have never participated in one! […] wouldn’t it be great if enough of us tweeted at Tim Burgess and/or TDCC to make a Tourist History listening party happen?! Let me know what you think! Many surprises await you in the Basement People…

Second of all, some fantastic news from the band themselves. Here at basementpeople.com we try and keep the bands private lives to the minimum, we love them as musicians, and though they are also fantastic people, what they do in their own time is really none of our business! However, it has been brought to our attention by another fellow basement person that our very own Kevin Baird is going to be a Dad! That’s right basement people, a Two Door baby! We would like to congratulate Kevin and Paige on this wonderful news, we wish you all the best in this new magical chapter of your lives and thank you for bringing some light into quite a dark year!
