Happy Birthday Ben

As well as today being quite an exciting day for Two Door and their fans, with the release of their 30 second clip of a new song, today is also Ben Thompson’s birthday. And so, basementpeople.com would like to wish him a very happy one.

Though Ben is not an official member of the band, he is very special to a lot of Two Door’s fans, including myself. Over the past few years, he has gained a following of his own. This is, I believe, down to his hard work as a drummer, along with his amazing talent; his contribution to the band’s live performance is incredible. He is to me possibly the only person who can make their music sound better (and that’s saying something!). As I’ve said before, his drumming is our signal to go crazy during shows. However, I feel that what makes him stand out is more important than that: It’s how he is off stage. His down to earth attitude, his kindness, his humour and the time he spends with fans is incredible. I’ve been lucky enough to witness this on many occasions, and each time he never fails to amaze me. And so, on behalf of all the basement people you have met, taken photos with, tweeted back (and whatever else you have done for us because we all you know you do a hell of a lot of stuff!), thank you Ben, have a wonderful birthday. The basement people are lucky to have you, and so are those Bangor boys!
