SONG MEANING
Alex has stated that Come Back Home is about the end of a relationship, it and Cigarettes In The Theatre, mark the end and start of a relationship respectively. He stated that he didn’t want it to be a clichéd conventional love song as “that’s what everyone else is writing about” and so is written in such a way to not seem like a love song. (Source)
SONG LYRICS
Another Saturday, another careless move
Tells the world that you’re thinking of what to do
A window opens up and someone calls your name
But I can tell you don’t know how to play this gameI know this isn’t it
You’ll hit your target somedaySo now you’re on your own, won’t you come back home
To see you’re not that kind and find the strength, and find the strength
To find another way
To find another way
To find another way
To find another waySo tell me what you need and I’ll accommodate
But if too long goes by you just might be too late
An opportunity you can’t afford to waste
So have the lines in your head first for heaven’s sakeYou hear the day beckoning
Know that it’s all in your headSo now you’re on your own, won’t you come back home
To see you’re not that kind and find the strength, and find the strength
To find another waySo now you’re on your own, won’t you come back home
To see you’re not that kind and find the strength, and find the strengthSo now you’re on your own, won’t you come back home
To see you’re not that kind and find the strength, and find the strength
To find another way
