War Child, the charity for children affected by conflict, is calling for volunteers to join them at Wilderness festival and experience the event for free, while supporting the worthwhile cause.

Music fans can enjoy all that the award-winning festival has to offer, plus save on the price of a ticket, by signing up to become a volunteer at https://www.warchild.org.uk/festivals.

Set amongst the lakes, forests and parkland of Oxfordshire’s exquisite Cornbury Estate, Wilderness is regularly voted one of the best festivals in the UK. From 3 – 6 August, headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Grace Jones and Bonobo, plus First Aid Kit, Michael Kiwanuka and many more will be taking to the stage.

Whether fans simply want to experience the buzz and atmosphere of a festival or have missed out on tickets to see their favourite act – volunteering with War Child is the perfect way to embrace the festival spirit and support the charity.

War Child has 305 volunteer spaces at Wilderness as well as opportunities to attend more top festivals around the country. All of the roles are stewarding, and volunteers will be the eyes and ears of site organisers – from providing information to music fans, directing queues at box offices, manning emergency exits next to the main stage, and generally making sure everyone is happy and safe.

Wilderness is fast approaching so don’t miss this chance to get together with friends, meet new people and have fun while enjoying the incredible weekend.

Everyone who signs up will get free entry to the festival and a meal voucher per shift, on top of learning valuable new skills. Stewards will be required to do three eight-hour shifts over the four festival days – so will have one day off and can do whatever they like in the rest of their free time. All volunteers will be needed at the festival site from 2 – 7 August and will have access to the designated War Child camping area.

A deposit of £80 is required for first time volunteers and £40 for students and returning volunteers.

For anyone wanting to sign up or know more – all information is on the War Child Website https://www.warchild.org.uk/festivals or on the War Child festival Facebook page.

I really hope some of you guys find this of interest, do let us know if you plan on working alonside War Child at Wilderness (and seeing Two Door, of course), we’d love to hear about it.
I hope you’re all well.

Lots of love,
Saoirse.
