Hello fellow basement people!

I’ve quite a few things to cover today, so here it goes!

First of all, some big news for you south American folk: Two Door will be playing Lollapalooza Brazil, Argentina and Chile! They’ll also be playing Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Columbia! A lot of you had been asking for this, so I can only imagine how happy you must be!

There have been quite a few updates concerning the band’s UK tour too. The fan pre-sale tickets were available on Wednesday and sold out pretty quick. General sale tickets went on sale yesterday morning and guess what? All of the dates sold out! Things got so crazy the band had to add two extra dates, one in Manchester and one in London!

wowtd

Did you manage to get tickets?! If so, well done! We can’t wait to hear about it. If not, are you hoping to go to one of the new dates in Manchester or London (or both)? Let us know on twitter! I’m so happy so many people bought tickets, for you guys and for the band! Well done Two Door, and well done basement people!

In other news, the #15daysofgameshowchallenge started on Wednesday, which brings us to day four! I’ve been reading some of your answers and I must say I’ve found them quite entertaining! Here are mine.

1 – How did you react when Two Door announced Gameshow?
They had just played Are We Ready? (Wreck) on BBC Radio 1 for the first time so I was already pretty excited about that. Annie Mac asked them about album three and I remember Alex saying something like “we can’t say anything just yet“, and then just moments after they’d left the studio everything was posted on social media. It was absolute madness, trying to take it all in and then post all the info here! It was great fun though, and such a relieve to finally have a date to look forward to!

2 – Why do you like/look forward to Gameshow?
Because it’s new Two Door material of course, but also because I feel they’ve really taken risks with this album. After having heard three of their new songs I understand what they meant when they said that Beacon was a safe record in an interview a few weeks ago, and though their new stuff does sound like Two Door, it’s miles away from what we’re used to. I love the new direction the band and their music are taking so far and I’m very excited to hear the rest of the album!

3 – What unreleased song are you most excited for?
I believe this post answers that question!

4 – Opinions on Two Door’s hiatus/mental health.

Waiting three years for new music, tours and just news from the band was definitely hard, but it was also clearly needed. I think it was important for them to take a break from everything for their own sake as people and as friends, but also for the band and their music. Though we all loved Tourist History and Beacon, another album along those lines wouldn’t have brought us anything new (though I’m sure we would have loved it all the same) and would definitely not have brought anything new to the band. They started touring at a very young age and never really had the chance to find themselves as people, they were only ever Alex, Kev and Sam from Two Door Cinema Club, and though that sounds incredibly cool, they’re so much more than that. I’m happy they took the time they needed and they’re so open about what they went through. I discuss the matter in more detail here if you’re interested!

If you’d like me to share any of your challenge answers on the site do let me know! Thanks again to Olivia for setting the whole thing up, we’re loving it!

And last but not least.. IT’S GAMESHOW MONTH GUYS!
The track Gameshow is actually available now to anyone who has pre-ordered the album!! Let us know how you feel about it on twitter!
