About the tour, the boys also mentionned the specific case of North Carolina:

Recently the General Assembly passed a bill that, in our opinion, erodes and invalidates fundamental protections from discrimination for the LGBT community.
Today, we announced that we will be playing a show in Carrboro, NC in June. Many artists have canceled their upcoming stops in NC as a result of the new legislation but we wanted to make it clear that, even though we’ll be playing in NC, we fundamentally disagree with any moves to legalise discrimination against any person. To stand up for what is right, you have to do exactly that and we’d rather do that within the state of North Carolina, rather than from afar. It’s our name above the door that night, it’s our name on the ticket and we see it as our responsibility to ensure that anyone can come and feel safe. The old dudes who made this law are as alien to us as we imagine they are to our fans in North Carolina.
We’re talking with the folks at Cat’s Craddle and we’re going to ensure every single one of you is treated with kindness and respect regardless of your gender, creed or sexuality. Our profits from the show will go to Equality North Carolina, who work towards bettering the future for ALL North Carolinians.

The basement people community are a wonderful crowd, and amongst us are people of different nationalities, colours, religions, genders, sexualities etc. These differences don’t stop us from loving our favourite band and shouldn’t stop us from doing anything else, especially being who we are. We fully support all the artists who have cancelled their upcoming events in protest but are also 100% behind Two Door in their decision to go ahead with their gig in North Carolina. We truly hope that everyone there that night can share a wonderful moment, every basement person there being different from the next one and yet all being united around something you love and share.
